On behalf of Marian…

It is with great sadness that we have to notify members that Marian Frank’s mother passed away on the 2nd of January.

For anyone wishing to pay their last respects her funeral will be held at 12.30pm on Friday 24th January at Hemingbrough Church.  There will be refreshments in the Chapel afterwards.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marian, and her family and friends, at this sad time.

Sad News

It is with a heavy heart that we must pass on the sad news that long standing club member John Harrison has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time. John will be missed by all who knew him.   R.I.P.

Two Saturdays!

This Saturday, 7th September, will see the juniors compete for the Graham Sweeting Cup.  Bowling starts at 11am and I’m sure they would appreciate spectator support.

Next Saturday, 14 September, will be Aussie Rules bowling organised once again by Greg.  This event replaces the usual end of season Hustle.  It is an open event so bring along friends and family along with another other bowling friends.  £3 includes bowling, refreshments and raffle.  This will be your last opportunity to bowl outdoors on our green until it reopens next April.

Bowls Drive and Club Triples

Bowls Drive – Saturday 24th August, 2pm.  Open to all bowlers, bowling friends and other friends and family.  Bring them along to have a go.  £3 per person includes bowling and refreshments.

Club Triples Competition – Sunday 25th August.  Arrive by 10.45 for the draw.  Bowling starts at 11.00am.

Whistlestop – a thank you…

Just a short missive to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to make Saturday’s Whistlestop a big success. Thank you to everyone who provided prizes for the raffle and tombola, and to those who ran it (sorry for forgetting to mention you in the original post), to those who provided food, and to those who plated it up and to those who served the drinks. Thanks also to the members who put the marquee up and took it down again. And finally, thank you to all the bowlers, home and away, who made teams up and who hopefully had a great day’s bowling.  it couldn’t have been done without you!

Hi everyone!

We still need quite a few tombola prizes for the Whistlestop. If you can donate an item or two could you please either leave it at the club (marked “for tombola”) or let Arthur/Molly have them. Please help us make the event the success it has been in the past. This is our main fundraiser which enables us to keep the club running. Many thanks.
