Club Closure Update

Work has now started at the club – see photo – which will remain closed until next Monday when we will, once again, meet for a social roll up.  Please pass the word to any member who may not use this website or Facebook.  Thank you.

Afternoon Tea & Bowls Cancelled

As the club will be closed all this week for completion of the ground works we will, unfortunately, have to cancel this month’s Afternoon Tea and Bowls.  This means that the first one will now be held on Thursday 7th June.

Temporary Closure of Club

Please note that from tomorrow – Tuesday 1st May – THE CLUB WILL BE CLOSED for the concreting of the path to go ahead and the groundworks to be finished.  Hopefully we will be good to go again by next Saturday but please wait until you hear that the club is open again before going to bowl.

Afternoon Tea & Bowls

The Afternoon Tea & Bowls on Thursday 3rd May will be going ahead as advertised.  Bowling starts at 2.00pm.  Cost is £5 per person and includes green fee, afternoon tea and a free raffle ticket.

Help, as always, would be appreciated.  Some of us will be there early to set up but, either way, please come along and join us.

This is also open to anyone who would like to come along to watch and then join us for afternoon tea which will be served from approximately 3.30pm.  Please pass the word and bring a friend.

Roll Up, Roll Up…

Although we have had to postpone the friendly game against Little Weighton, we can, with care, access the club and green again.

Therefore, on Saturday 28th April, we will finally be having our first social bowl.  This may just be an informal practice session or, if numbers permit, we may have a small bowls drive amongst ourselves.  Either way, bowling will start at 2.00pm.

Note:  Please take care – the path to the clubhouse is uneven and there are mats, cardboard and a plastic tarpaulin protecting the carpet inside the clubhouse.  Also, please do not use the small gate by the car parking area, or walk on the newly seeded path up the edge of the green.

Hope to see you all there.

Update

As there is still a chance the ground works at the club may not be finished in time, the home friendly against Little Weighton has been postponed.  Instead, it is proposed to hold a friendly roll-up for club members.  This may also be the only opportunity Goole league midweek pairs players will have to practice prior to the first match on 2nd May.  Bowling will start at 2pm, BUT, please keep checking the Facebook page and this website in case these plans have to change at the last minute.

Green maintenance

The “footpath” down the side of the green has been levelled and seeded with grass seed.  Please DO NOT use the small gate for access or walk on the seeded area.  Thank you.
