Head over to the Under 18’s page for a link to the Goole Times article.
The Waterloo tournament, the biggest crown green competition in the country, is back on terrestrial television next month after an absence of over a quarter of a century.
This year’s handicap finals will receive live uninterrupted TV coverage on ITV4 from 10am to 5pm on September 15-16.
ITV4 will also air a series of highlight programmes summarising the day’s events.
Tomorrow’s Close of Season Hemingbrough Hustle (1.30 for 2.00pm) is our last chance to bowl outdoors at the club until April next year – so let’s make the most of it!
Catering is on a “Bring and Share” basis so please bring a small contribution. We’d also like the raffle to go out with a bit of a bang so donations of prizes would also be appreciated.
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us but we will decide on the day how many games/ends are played – we can always play on if we’re having fun…
See you there.
Final figures are in for both President’s Day and the Whistlestop as follows:
President’s Day – Total Raised £1710, split equally between Starlight Children’s Charity and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (£855 each)
Whistlestop Total Raised £1159.65
A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported these events.
SATURDAY 9th SEPTEMBER – Close of Season Hustle, 1.30 for 2.00pm. Come One, Come All! This is a “Bring & Share” event so we’re looking for both food and raffle prizes please.
Please note that the Whistlestop is fast approaching and we still need donations of food for the catering. There is a list on the board in the clubhouse for you to write on what you can provide. This is the big fundraiser for the club so please support it as best you can. Thank you.
Collection of Prizes
We are now collecting Raffle and Tombola prizes for this year’s Whistlestop; we’d like to have in excess of 200 Tombola prizes if possible.
Please let Brenda have Tombola Prizes, and Marian the Raffle prizes.
Thanks in anticipation.
A sample shirt has been obtained so that members can see the quality of both the material and the printing – the material is good quality and the printing clear and bright.
It will be taken to the club on Captain’s Day and again on Thursday evening for the roll up. After that it needs to be returned to the supplier.
Hopefully we will then be in a position to (finally) order the shirts for those who have added their names to the list.
